Fath produces Japanese catalog on paper and online
Fath is the manufacturer of hinges and fittings, levelling feet, T-slot nuts and accessories for aluminium profile systems. In order to support their continued world growth, Fath produced a Japanese/English product-catalogue. In addition to the paper catalogue the whole website is available online as well.

The phases that were implemented are:
  • Export for translation.
The content of the CMS was exported in a format which could be used in translation software. This enables Fath to quickly implement the Japanese language. The translation was done internally with native japanese speakers.
  • Import in CMS
The unicode file was directly imported into the CMS, linking the translated information to the original records.
  • Export to DTP
The generation of the paper catralogue is automated with xCS.press resulting in a fully laid-out Adobe Framemaker Book, including a automatically generated Table of Content and an Product Number Index.
  • Finalisation
After adding the standard static entry and closing pages the catalogue was delivered to the printer.

From Export to delivering the finalised files to the printer (PDF format) took less then 24 hours, thus  resulting in a unbeatable time-to-market.
